Matt Applegate is an Assistant Professor of English & Digital Humanities at Molloy College. He received his Ph.D. from the Department of Comparative Literature at Binghamton University–SUNY, and held a fellowship at the Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities at Binghamton University (IASH). He specializes in critical theory, digital humanities, digital literacy, spatial humanities, and the political economy of media.
His book, tentatively titled Guerrilla Theory: Political Concepts, Critical Digital Humanities, is under contract at Northwestern University Press. He is currently working on a number of articles dealing with Internet language, critical code studies, and adversarial design. He is also the creator of The Digital Manifesto Archive.
